The Cat's Still In The Cradle, Silver Spoon, The Moon... All That: Top 10 Songs About Fatherhood

A few of these songs are about the often complex relationship between an artist and their father, others about the relationship of the artist and their own children. I made this list in honor of my newborn son (Glenson Gardner). There comes a time in every man's life when he learns to think not of what can be done for himself but what can be done for others, one particular baby in particular. There comes a time when one chances upon an intimate encounter with the circle of life for the very first time. When you give birth to the mirror into which you can gaze and see all of your own blessings and faults and victories and mistakes and frustrations and misfortunes and irresponsibility and inability to go to the store and pick up a few condoms and jesus christ $200 for a stroller are you kidding me Sheila I swear to God we could just put him in bread basket he wouldn't know the difference he's a fucking baby money doesn't grow on- but I digress... Here are the best 10 songs about the joys of fatherhood:

1. "Bloody Motherfuckin Asshole" - Martha Wainwright
2. "Father & Son" - Cat Stevens
3. "Lullaby" - Loudon Wainwright III
4. "Adam Raised A Cain" - Bruce Springsteen
